When you have rheumatoid arthritis (RA), symptoms come in waves—sometimes you feel energetic and can enjoy your daily activities with no problems. Other times—for no obvious reason—you may feel flattened by fatigue. This is because RA is an autoimmune disease, meaning your immune system, which normally "fights" invaders such as bacteria and viruses, goes haywire and starts attacking your body's healthy tissue.

While there is no "RA diet," you can enjoy foods that help fight inflammation and boost energy levels.
