Questions to Ask Your Doctor

RA can affect many parts of your body—and many parts of your life. An open and honest dialogue with your doctor can help you become more comfortable with your condition and your treatment. Here are some questions you may want to ask:

  • How slowly or quickly is my rheumatoid arthritis (RA) progressing?
  • Based on my RA symptoms and my treatment goals, what treatments do you recommend?
  • What are the side effects of these medications?
  • Do I need other treatments, such as physical and/or occupational therapy?
  • What kinds of exercises do you suggest?
  • What about other lifestyle changes?
  • What else do I need to know?
  • When should I come back for my next checkup?
