Cherry Almond Smoothie

This smoothie contains ground flax that has omega-3 fatty acids—a powerful anti-inflammatory.

Yields: 2 servings

Ingredients

1 cup frozen or fresh black sweet pitted cherries
1 cup non-fat, plain yogurt or kefir
4 ice cubes
¼ cup toasted whole almonds
1 tsp almond extract
2 tsp granulated sugar
2 tbsp ground golden flax

Directions

In a blender combine cherries, yogurt or kefir, ice cubes, almonds, almond extract, sugar, and flax.
